PICS: Foiled, Brooklin 1956 Ford Fairlane
Okay, I got most of the foiling done. Unfortunately, I attempted to do the foiling with a tough grade foil that is not Bare Metal Foil. While really shiny like real chrome, hard to work into curves and around corners. My friend had this foil and he said it was aluminum chrome or something.
I still have to do some more work to it like painting the emblems, doors etc. The Ford crest on the hood is too large, I think. I also did lots of work on the interior. I painted the seats tu-tone and also did the dash tu-tone. I have to say, I don't believe I will attempt this without BMF again. But this little Brooklin is a real beauty once detailed.
I've added a Vitesse 56 Ford Convertable to the pics I bought off eBay a while back. I still have to add the decals to this one but it is a beauty. However, I wonder, why no door handles?
Nice work!
Arthur Brown 56 Ford
Real nice work, Also the reason the Vitesse has no door handles is that the decals which they came with new were never applied.
I have two Vitesse Fords that I bought new, no door handle decals.
Anyone have extras?
Thank you, Shel. I have a brand new set of decals that came with my Vitesse....
...but no door handle decals, only emblems and crest for hood and trunk. Were the door handles decals and were they on a separate decal sheet?
I wouldn't mind a set of door handle decals as well. I didn't know they came as decals.
Thanks, Dillon. As soon as I get some BMF, I may attempt other models when time permits.
Very impressive, Arthur. I may have to take foiling lessons from you.
Well done Arthur - love how a bit of chrome makes a model "pop".
This one is coming along beautifully, Arthur. That's a fine display of both those neat '56 Fords.

I purchased my first Vitesse 56 Ford convertible in 1993 and can not remember if there was a seperate sheet for the door handles,I remember trying to install them and messed up and left the shaved look on the doors and trunk.
Looks great, Arthur. Many thanks for posting.
John, first lesson....Don't use heavy foil. I'll let you know when I get BMF.
