This is a great machine David.

I rented a long wheelbase version when we moved the last of our stuff. Great to drive even if it's ugly to look at! You can't see the front when you're in the driving seat though. When I returned it I suggested they keep the rental deposit and I would keep the van. For some reason they didn't take me up on my offer.

Actually, John, I'm one of those who think those Transit vans are goog looking.

With high roof extended length version you rented, I imagine you could haul a lot during your recent move. You certainly moved in style. As I understand, the Transit Van is now produced world wide. It's certainly an improvement over the Econoline series popular as it has been in the U.S for many years. Too bad the rental agent refused your kind offer to keep your deposit and let you keep the van. M

Europe had the Transit name before Britain. I realised this when

I saw the old Tekno models of European Transits before the UK-built ones appeared, built in a new factory near Southampton, Alas this factory is no more.

"Google looking," David. What does that mean? I agree that it's a utilitarian vehicle, but I don't think that anyone could actually consider it attractive, if that's what you meant to say!
