PICs - From My Collection - Sunday 1958 Ford Fairlane 500 Victoria Hardtop
-Goldvarg Collection
-LE #63 of 200
-Azure Blue & Colonial White

*funny thing... while I was processing these photos, I noticed the 500 script was missing on one side of the model, I had to laugh... 'cause I have three '58 Ford Fairlanes in my model collection, 2 are from Sunstar in 1:18 scale, all of them are missing all or part of the rear script.

[PICS] Well, funny you should post these pics of a pale blue and white Ford ....

... because I got my own Goldvarg Fairlane 500 a couple of weeks ago, and while looking for a space for it on a shelf I realised I had a few more blue and white Fords in the collection, although as far as "light blue" and "white" are concerned I'm maybe stretching a point here and there.

Anyway, with nothing better to do on a lazy Sunday afternoon than to waste my time and yours, I wheeled them out into the garden ...

If I cheat a little (well, quite a lot, really) and allow white on the upholstery only, I could maybe squeeze these in as well

Or maybe you just prefer yellow?

Well now, that is a lot of blue & white. They look great! I also like the '60 Ford in yellow.

Does everyone one this forum feel the same way as Graeme that posting pictures is a waste of his time and our time?

Nor sure how to take your question. It was simply a light-hearted comment on my part.

I just meant my post didn't show anything dramatically new or never-seen-before. Just some items from my collection that I thought would make a pretty picture, so if anyone thought "Ho-hum, so what?" I wouldn't be all that upset. Well, maybe just a little bit. Pulling out the models, setting them up, taking the shots, editing, captioning, writing and posting took me about 4 hours, but I did it purely for my own amusement.

I can't imaging why anyone would ever seriously think that posting photos here would be a waste of time (unless they don't like blue-and-white Fords, obviously).

Apologies if reading this reply has robbed anyone of precious minutes of their life!

(I would insert a smiley here, but being a grumpy old man I hate smileys).

Nice collection, Graeme, and as always, too much of a good thing is never enough.

Grame read what you wrote about wasting your time and anyone else's time

I never said you were wasting my time. Almost any post with pictures is what keeps this forum alive.

In my experience Graeme's time estimates are on par.

For those who do not post, it does take time to take pictures, crop them, resize them (since this site will not automatically do that), research the real vehicle (or the actual toy, if that's what is being posted), then write it up.

I've got folders full of pictures of ideas I've had for posts here, or for MAR, but just never got around to. Some of the topics are no longer related to a current release, so someday perhaps I'll post as a "historical" item. But even more likely is posting on Facebook and other sites where there is interest in a wider range of 1:43 vehicles.

I agree that messing about with models is an awesome waste of time.

Its one of my favorite things to do.

Wow I'm surprised with your reaction to Graeme's post.

Knowing his sense of humor I took his comment as a light hearted whimsical approach which I found fun. I guess with a media such as this it is hard to find those who will misinterpret the spirit of the typed word. Incidentally, I loved the layout which had to be very time consuming to put together for our enjoyment.

Half of the fun here is to see what evryone has collected.

If I don't want to view the pix [such as green and pink subjects] or the commentary, I can simply click on the next post.
It's all part of the fellowship to share our little obsessions.

Two nations separated by common language? Or am I wasting my time here?..

Saw nothing wrong with Graeme's wording and that collection is impressive!
