(PICS) Neo ElCamino and Coupe deVille just arrived...I love 'em
The postman brought both these Neos to my door yesterday and they're both delightful to me.
The Cadillac required absolutely no tweaking at all....something that I usually have do to all models that I've ever bought..in any scale and at any price.
I did make a couple of simple mods to the ElCamino including narrowing the whitewalls just a bit using a circle template and a 'tech-pen', and also painting the seats in two-tone grey with black floor.
Although I'm sure most restored ElCaminos have upgraded to Impala interior trim over the years, they were originally produced with basic 'Biscayne" interior materials in spite of using 'BelAir' exterior trim. The floor-mats were rubber....these vehicles were intended as trucks.
The ElCamino uses a plethora of optional or dealer installed trim such as bumper guard, mechanical remote control rear-view mirror, front fender trim, full wheel-disks etc. but I must say that the fit and proportion is excellent to my eyes.
Incidentally, notice that the ElCamino uses an etched metal plate on the base to describe the vehicle. All my other Neos (I'm up to 17 1/43 Neos already) use simple printing on the base.
The Cadillac looks much better than in Neo's press photos.
They both look great, but I was concerned about the Cadillac from what I had seen, especially at the windshield header. Now I want to see the 1976 too!
