Not so sure about that.
I worry that 1:43 diecasts will disappear from the US in the coming years. Thankfully Greenlight is hanging in there, but maybe only because there is a worldwide audience for their TV and movie-themed items. Most US collectors are either rabid Hot Wheels fans or 1:18 collectors having mega-display areas. Take a look at recent Minichamps newsletters - they are headed down 1:18 and yes, 1:12 paths big time.
Still, I'd like to see PCT bring more detail in to the existing castings and release more as Ixo or Premium X.
I assume mailing costs to the USA would be prohibitive.
There's a French site, www.journaux.fe that sells busses from the Autobus e Autocar du Monde collection for 19,99 Euros but the shipping to the US is high, higher than the price of the model.
Check out EBay France.
In the UK as in some other European countries - packing a product ….
with a magazine gets away from paying VAT.
Currently books, magazines and newspapers are zero VAT rated. However, most other stuff, including toys and models has 20% VAT added.
