(Pics) The Professor's Buick - Part 1 (re-run)

LOL, I came across an old 3 part story-picture/post from some years back. This is Part 1 and I'll post the other 2 parts in the next couple of days or so. It features Buicks from across a few decades. Some of the pictures were slightly tweaked and an "out-take" picture was added in Part Two.
.............
Police this evening are asking the public for help and any information on the mysterious disappearance of Professor Thornton Page, Sr. , 59, from his Buick automobile which was discovered in the lot at the new Naval Observatory at Tranquility Point. Dr. Page's car was found with the motor idling, all the keys in the ignition, the lights on and doors and windows locked from the inside. No trace of Page has been found since he vanished earlier this week.

Recently, friends say, Professor Page had begun corresponding with an unnamed Admiral in the Office of Naval Intelligence and Nicola Tesla, the inventor. Presumably, this may have been about employment at the new Observatory being run by the navy and site of the giant new telescope that will survey the Moon and Mars, among other objects in the night sky.

Neighbors of the Page's in the Sculptured Hills area of the city say, although he was still paying installments on his 1934 Buick coupe, he suddenly was observed driving around town in an expensive and brand-new 1936 deluxe Buick sedan, the same car he disappeared from.

One neighbor, who asked not to be named, said he thought Dr. Page had recently done some kind of "work" or "research" for Draper Laboratory at M.I.T., during his time off from teaching at the local University, and had, perhaps, come into some additional money. The neighbor produced a Kodak photograph showing the new Buick parked at the Page's house next to his older automobile. He also mentioned that within the last two weeks the red Buick sedan had been seen at several rather out-of-the-way locations on the outskirts of town. He refused to speculate on what this may have meant, although Page's wife indicated that Thornton had strangely telephoned her from the Astronomy Department just before he vanished and said something that sounded to her like, "I need to see for myself that they really don't come from here. Once I'm allowed to visit their hexagon areas, I'll know for sure. See you and junior shortly. "

Finally, authorities investigating the case indicated a family on vacation in the area had lost their way on the night of Page's disappearance and were trying to get back to the main highway. While driving in their 1935 Nash just outside the astronomical installation, Mr. Stephan Armstrong, as well as his wife Viola and their two children, young Neil, 5 and his little sister June, 3, all observed the red Buick sedan parked with the motor and lights on. This appeared to be about 30 minutes before police discovered the automobile deserted in the lot. The Armstrongs reported no one was visible in the vehicle, but young Neil and small June were looking out the Nashes rear window as they passed by and told the police and also three G-men from Washington who are now on the case that, above the observatory, "A big silver zeppelin was flying through clouds near the moon and it left in a sudden flash of light." June's eyes were as big as saucers as the little girl exclaimed that it left behind, " A trail of sparkly lights like the magic wands do that wizards and fairies cast spells with." Young Neil agreed and said the silver ship also reminded him of the rockets Flash Gordon and Buck Rodgers fly around in.

Jacques, I didn't detail that one at all. It's a regular White Box 1936

Buick as it came out of it's container. A very good bargain at it's price !
