(Pics) The Professor's Buick - Part 3
Professor John Parsons had worked on rocket designs since the 1930's and had even done consulting work for Hollywood studios in the making of the Flash Gordon and Buck Rogers serials and movies.
He seemed to suddenly come into a great deal of money just before World War II and purchased himself a huge, luxurious and expensive 1941 Buick Limited sedan.
Parsons was still driving this new-looking car in 1951 when he met both Dr. Watkins and Professor Page at a hidden rocket base located in a highly-secret part of the White Sands Missile Range. Both Page and Watkins were stunned when Parsons showed them the massive three-stage rocket that was being prepared for a manned mission to circle the moon and he mentioned the program they were being attached to was above top secret and run by a government department simply known as NSAA. The "S" in the name may have stood for "Space" or it may have stood for "Security". This NSAA group wanted to get a closer look at "features" on the moon before any "official" American mission went there. Whether this mission ever took place or not, Walt Disney's 1955 production "Man and the Moon" (hosted by Professor Dr. Werner Von Braun) may have recreated that mission and disguised it as a "story of the future".

In any event, Professor Parsons mentioned the project was being "watched" by weird, unknown, totally silent flying wings or triangle types of craft that could stop, turn around in place or shoot off at incredible speeds into the heavens. Parsons indicated he was trying to "protect" the secret moon project by "manipulating the ether" and by attempting to "alter the space-time fabric" by communicating with "magical powers". It's not clear whether events worked out as planned, however.

Much like Professor Page's Buick automobile had been discovered near the observatory before in 1936, John Parsons' big '41 Limited was also found apparently completely empty on a lonely California beach road in 1952. Quite differently, however, than in Page's case, it immediately became obvious exactly where Parsons actually was, as he had turned into a small pile of ashes that was found on the slightly singed and faintly discolored front seat of the otherwise completely undamaged car.

Nothing else of non-smoker Parsons remained, other than on the floorboards, where there was found a pair of like-new shoes, with the completely intact feet of Dr. John Parsons still in them. An investigator muttered something about "SHC" (spontaneous human combustion) and the case was quicky closed. For some reason, within 72 hours of the incident, a black 1950 Chevrolet Suburban carry-all showed up on the scene at the same time of the very early morning hours that Parsons' Buick had been discovered "empty".
The Chevy was identified on the side as belonging to an educational organization known as the "Frequency Binary Institute" that was doing "research" and "scientific frequency measurements", ...... or at least that was according to the driver, who would only give his name as "Kenneth". Parsons' burnt "remains" were sent back to his hometown of Salem, Massachusetts for burial.

But the John Parsons Laboratory he founded continued on and, in close association with the Civil International Association, J.P.L. was soon was doing key work with designing and monitoring all robot American spacecraft sent to investigate "natural" and "geological" features in the solar system.
Young Ella Watkins grew up to be a beautiful and intelligent young woman, who became Sweetheart Magazine's Sweetheart of the Year at 22 years of age in the mid-Sixties and just 4 years later had already earned her Doctorate in Astronomy at UCLA. To help pay for her education, she worked as a Candy Girl hostess at publisher Rex Heflin's famous Sweetheart Clubs, first in London when she attended King's College, next in Chicago when she did post-graduate studies at the University of Chicago and finally, at the Los Angeles club while doing her Doctorate work at UCLA. Her specialty was the planet Mars and she soon was working at NASA/JPL on the Mariner and Viking probes to the Red Planet.
Rex Heflin presented his best-known Sweetheart/Candy Girl with a brand-new 1971 Buick Riviera when she left to join NASA/JPL, and, like her father, Ella loved Buicks and was delighted with her new Riviera, which she personally maintained and kept in perfect shape.
She loved driving out to the desert in her car to relax and stargaze.

Over the years. Ella married a handsome and intelligent man named Carl Saglan who became a famous science fiction author and they had two daughters and a son together. In her spare time for fun, she also did consulting work for various Hollywood movies, like Steven Spielberg's "Close Encounters of the Third Kind" and "ET".
Later in her life, Dr. Ella Watkins seemed to become both fascinated and concerned by certain knowledge she had come across, both in her work with planetary probes and from various un-named "outside sources" which got "information" to her at out-of-the-way meetings in lonely or restricted spots. It's not certain whether these meetings were with governmental, corporate, religious, private or "other" sources ........ or some combination of those.

In any case, after working on the Curiosity probe to Mars, the Rosetta mission to Comet 67P , the Dawn spacecraft to Ceres and at her teachings at various universities, Professor Ella's frustration and concern now reached a peak. She handed in her resignation from NASA/JPL and announced a press conference to be given about stunning "key revelations" that would be held in Palm Springs, California.

Ella got in her '71 Buick with a collection of photographs and documents and headed to Palm Springs. However, she never arrived and two days later, her empty Riviera was found out in the desert next to "Skull Rock" (sometimes also called "Alien Head Rock" ...... or, by the local indian tribe, "Ancestor Rock"). The keys were in the ignition and there was a full tank of gas.
