(PICS) When 1/43 Ferrari models were actually made in Italy........

These were all models manufactured in the pre-China era.
I'm sure there were other manufacturers as well, but the affordable ones that I started collecting over three decades ago were from ART Model, BEST Model, and my favorite ones from BANG. They all were diecast with some plastic parts, a bit of photo-etch detail, and usually nicely done paint. They generally used quite nice PE wire wheels, with the best rim detail coming from BANG. I believe these manufacturers may have had some affiliation with eachother because I have a few duplicated models (with different race numbers), including one from LA MINI MINIERA.

I like these, Clifford. Perhaps modern manufacturing (ie. China) might be more detailed, but these in my opinion capture the spirit of Ferrari. Good collecting!

There are still some coming out of Italy Clifford. I missed some of the Bang models, and regret it now. Those are really great. I have several Art, Bang, Best, and Box Models. Recently I got this Best Model, still marked as made in Italy:

And Brumm has upped their game over the past several years. I also recently bought this Lotus-Climax 25 which won at Monza, and gave Jim Clark the F1 championship in 1963.

The Bang 250 GTE is an outstanding model

My 250 GTE is blue, and holds its own next to currrent detailed models.

Detail! I had a fleet of 1/18
burago's at 1 time.57 Testarossa,Hot wheels california spyder in maroon with no tampos. Oh 250 gto. 250 lm . I turned them over years ago. Not too long ago I picked up the 250 lm again.
I kept a lambo miura cause of paint flaws and man there a lot of them for sale,kills the value. Buragos are cheap
and good quality. Nothing like your collection .Thanks for sharin.
