(pix) This is a '73 Trans-Am !!!! ...
Not a '72. This color (Buccaneer Red) was not available in 1972. The only colors available in 1972 were CAMEO WHITE with blue stripes and LUCERNE BLUE with white stripes.

It's good that you this sort of knowledge......
'cause I wouldn't have a clue!
'73 American iron is a wee bit beyond my "comfort zone" but...
I'm learning. I hope others are too.
That's Red? I thought it was Orange!
(pix) Here's a photo of the real deal. You be..
the judge. BTW I have to add white letters to the tires to the 1/43 model.

Well... as they say... "you win some, you lose some."
AE/NEO really couldn't care less.
Maybe it's the lighting in the NEO/AE photo.....
....It is a great, great color, but the NEO looks a bit more Orange. Not much, but a difference. Very much like the Cay Coral debate on the 58 Impala. Because I am an Impala collector, I overlooked the shade being a bit off and bought it.
It depends on how much you want it and can live with the color difference.
NEO is doing some marvelous things and they should be encouraged and supported but I wish, I wish they would just go the extra mile on matching colors better and also.....stop with the Green already! LOL.
The 72-73 Trans ams were available in red and orange
Well, they'll love it in Clemson!
I say we write to NEO/AE and ask them to stop making models of American cars!
When they do, there will be no cause for complaint anymore, and we can all sleep easy again, not having to anticipate all those glaring errors that are totally unacceptable!
We can also start a list of signatures of all people who want them to stop this blatant baiting of customers, and would rather they make no more of those contentious models.
Who will help me?
Any help appreciated 😉
Cheers,
Arie
Then Orange it is! Color solved. LOL. Shel, please email me!
I was taught "Either do it right or don't do it at all"
Are you able to decide what information is correct of all the conflicting info you get?
A lot of stuff on the internet simply is wrong or incomplete, which is an important reason for a lot of unfounded claims of correct or incorrect details on models.
The reason why I never simply accept information from just one or even a few sources if there is no other source! People on the internet tend to copy and paste, but seldom verify independently.
I have known it to happen that the research was taking more than a year, to make sure you get everything correct, and then you finally decide to go ahead on basis of the info you have painstakingly got together. The model is not out yet, and already someone is coming with information to prove you've got it wrong!
As you say, there always is the choice NOT to do anything (i.e. NOT to make any models) if you can't get it right, but who can say it is not right on basis of spurious internet info?
That is why I called for action to stop them doing these models, and from your comment you seem to agree Frank!
Cheers,
Arie
