I want to throw out the large Ikea display cases that I have for many years, and have a flat acrylic shelving hung on the wall for the entire length. I am looking at Carney Plastics, and they are probably the best choice. Is there anyone on the market offering a similar product?
Another thing is I never take the models off the display case base. In fact, some are impossible to take off - the bottom of the base is sealed on some Looksmart models, for example. Which means I can't use the 1/43 display - they base won't fit in those slots. I guess I should get the 1/24 cases?

Thanks, Frank! I see you have no dividers there. Two questions - how do you hang it on the wall? Does it come with hardware and holes? And another - a standard 3"-wide display base won't fit on yours, right?

It comes with mounting screws and pre drilled holes (4) through the mirrored back. I have no dividers and (correction) I do believe a base would work. Carney should have dimensions on their site. Quality is excellent.

Albert, I have many Carney display cases and I think their quality is excellent along with their customer service. To address some of your questions...yes they come with the hardware to hang them on the wall and the holes are predrilled. If your plan is to leave the bases on your 1/43 scale models then you will need to buy the 1/24 cases as the average base is 2 7/8 wide while the 1/43 case is only 2 3/8 deep. The 1 /24 case is 3 /78 deep. Also Albert the cases are available either with or without dividers which are more versatile since the average base is 6 1/4 long while the 1 /24 compartments are 9 1/4 long. The unfortunate thing about the bases is that they are not universal and vary widely in size. Hope this helps.
@bob-jackman. Thanks, Bob. Some bases are huge - like the Matrix ones, and some Minichamps. I will have get those models out.
I second the Carney display cases. Nice tight fitting doors to keep out dust and prevent items falling off in an earthquake. Keep in mind some models may be too long (limos etc) to fit in the ones with vertical dividers so I have some with dividers and some with out.
