[Closed] Poll: What automotive decades do you prefer in your collections?

I am after models of the 1946 to 1965 era, but first of all models of the late 40's and 50's, giving preference to
Buicks and Pontiacs made during these years.

My preference ends with the late 50's and starts as early as possible. I also prefer the independents. My favorites are my Packards. But I have quite a few exceptions both in make and date.

Brass era thru the 40's....

Some like cars from their youth, I prefer historically relevant cars from before then.

Since my primary focus is woodies, the decades would be the thirties and forties up thru the early fifties. In more recent times i've expanded to include select American convertibles, coupes and a few station wagons of the fifties and a few into the sixties.

I grew up in the 60s, hence that's my preference.

I will elongate my collection on more years.

I was concentrate on a period of fifteen years between 1947 to 1961 but with the new range BML and those gorgeous models of the end of the 30's and the start of the 40's it is difficult to not extend my collection. I also bought the CON 1962 Cadillac coupe de ville recently and my model is alone in a corner of my shelf around all my models of the 50's. I don't want to see it neglected in a corner on my display shelf so i'm thinking to buy a bit more models of the start of 60's but not a lot. The BRK 1965 Chevrolet Impala looks interesting for accompaned my Cadillac and maybe the 1967 Buick Wildcat but the screw just under the front bumper bother me a bit and there are the lack of chrome. In fact there are not a lot of models between 1962 to 1967 in white metal on the market who are interesting for me and i don't want to buy too much of 1:18. So perhaps i will extend my collection of twelve years. 1939 to 1965 or something like that.

I try for everything up to the end of the 50s.

There are very few before 1929, and especially very few before 1920.

Late 40's to late 60's for me. I also would like to see more 60's cars from makers.

This is truly a hard one to answer...

my main area of interest is campers from all around the globe, so no particular years here. I love the early stuff, everything before 1930 American, unfortunate as already stated, there is very little available. Other than a few high end Cadillac's, a new (as yet released) Model T, some pewters and a couple of cheap early diecasts.

My collection started with early 1930's Packards ,Duesenbergs ,Cadillacs and 1940s Chrysler T&Cs . I have expanded the Cadillacs to include all years.Now I have been picking up some of my favourite Brooklin past issues. I also agree that we could use more 1960's especially early 1960's.

The first 100 years

My collection consists of pretty much anything from Dust and Glory's Packard Grey Wolf up to and including the greatest cars from the 1980's Japanese invasion.

1930's cars are the most elegant...1950's cars the most colorful...1960's through 1980's cars are among the sleekest.

Sadly, most cars from the 1990's until the present are interchangeable, anonymous blobs...most of them painted similar shades of silver, black, or white.

It's unfortunate that--as cars got faster, safer, and more comfortable--they all started looking like they came from the same jelly mold.

No wonder kids today are more interested in their computer gizmos.
