John while browsing EBay was suprised to come across a 1/43 studebaker showing a Brookline model BRK144 with made in England on the box…..yet in the corner is a picture of the Statue of Liberty!
Assuming they were an company based in the US. Found this confusing …Which is it?🥴

Brooklin has always had an affinity for American cars. At various times via their packaging, they feature a uniquely American theme. Some of the boxes and many of the club sets featured the Statue of Liberty and some of the NYC skyline.

This is from their "history" page

  • 1974In the basement of a house in a small rural town of Brooklin in Canada, John Hall, a designer engineer, decided to change a lifelong interest of collecting American Automobiles into something tangible: 1/43 scale handmade models. And Brooklin Models begin.
  • 1979John and Jenny Hall return to England, setting up a shop in the beautiful city of Bath, Somerset. This move lead to an immediate distinction between the earlier models and the new English ones. The 1949 Buick Roadmaster, 1956 Lincoln Continental and 1935 Buick Skylark are amongst the early models made in England.

My apologies. I assumed everyone knew Brooklin was located in the UK. Yes, they are English but have an affinity for American cars, hence the images of Americana,

I knew they were located in UK; I was researching if Brooklin is a reference to Brooklyn NYC since one can see the Statue of Liberty from Brooklyn NYC. Apparently, it is not, since the spelling matches Brooklin, ON Canada. It is a bit confusing for the people not familiar with the brand (myself included; I don't own any Brooklin models).
