I like to use a "lazy susan" when painting model kits or repainting an existing model. Here's a do it yourself lazy susan that you can put together in less than 1/2 hour at a total cost of less than $5. All you need is a couple of scrap pieces of wood, a small length of wooden dowel and a swivel plate. You can buy a 3" swivel plate at Home Depot for about $4. The picture of the swivel plate below is larger than the one sold at Home Depot, but you get the idea.The dowel elevates the car allowing clear access to rocker panels and wheel wells. Just make sure the dowel firmly holds the model so that it can't fall off during painting.
