Repairing a minor disaster... and quickly! (pics)

While working on my Hudson project this rainy afternoon (more of that sometimes), I went over to my small Hudson shelving for a comparison. I took down an old favorite, my Franklin Mint '51, and found. . .

The driver's outside mirror was gone! Totally, completely, for ever and ever, gone.

So I turned to my repair area (that's a fair-sized box with several little boxes inside it). Ten minutes of searching. . . Eureka!

It's easy to forget just how detailed these FM models were. photo no longer available

Have a good evening, gentlemen, and may you stay in good health.

While it looks like a perfect match, the replacement mirror obviously had a different origin. I had to enlarge the hole in the Hudson's door for the mirror peg to fit. The replacing was a little more involved than I reported at first, I guess.
