Rio No.17 1906 Mercedes Torpedo
I enjoy collecting models from the early 20th Century. Rio of Italy has made a lot of them over the years.
Corgi Classics made figures for the Daimler and Ford Model T. I have collected extras of these and added them to several Rios. Here is one example.
Without passengers, it seems sterile.
A sterile Mercedes - who would have thunk! Just teasing, MB fans! (My Dad drove 3 sterile Mercedes sedans!)
But that is a great idea - extra drivers from one brand to punch up another! Those old RIOs are great, though.
I used to have that Rio too. This AutoCult Benz from 1906 caught my eye a few years ago and the level of detail impressed me, so into my collection it went.
That’s a very impressive model, Harv.
I enjoy these "oldies" from the earlier years of 1/43 popularity. Here's one by SAFIR that' still unusual.
