RIP Stirling Moss
One of the all time greats passed today.
I am sure many of you will be posting photos of models of the cars he raced.
.
Amen. One of the giants of racing.
The Christ
The all time greatest was risen today Amen.
Sad news. As you might expect, I have several models of his cars, but only one pic I could find quickly:

His win in the 1955 Mille Miglia with Denis Jenkinson was one of the greatest of his career. Below is the Ferrari 250GT with which we won the 1960 RAC Tourist Trophy at Goodwood.

I have his 1963 SMART Lotus model by Marsh Thundersports and his '61 Monaco Lotus but no photos - I need to get to work on these as outdoor weather permits.
Cooper Borgward F2
My car room is 'under construction', so I can't really find anything right now.
I have the SMTS Monaco 1961 diorama--Stirling's favorite, proudest win--the TSM Porsche 718 F2 in Rob Walker's colors with Stirling's lucky #7 in the roundel, and I'm sure quite a few more.
The most unusual (and treasured) is a very well done model of the F2 Cooper Borgward he raced for Rob Walker during the 1959 season, helping Cooper win that year's F2 title.
It's resin...I got it from Grand Prix Models many years ago...and even they had no idea who made it. It was something they took in as part of a collection.
Photo...someday...
My favorite memory of the handful of times I met Stirling was when he shamelessly flirted with my wife at the vintage races at Road America one year, back when we were all much younger.
Fortunately for me...she was able to resist his practiced and quite charming overtures!
Can't wait to see the rest of your Moss cars, Harvey.

Who, if you like racing, could not be a fan of Stirling Moss! Back in the eighties I went to the 1985 IMSA Miami Grand Prix, and on Saturday, Stirling and I were the only two in the Press Room. And I still have his autograph. He signed it with great appreciation for his American fans. And I should mention I seldom ask for autographs. I'd rather remember him by looking at a model of a racing car he drove.
