What an incredible post, these are some very unique models, most of which I've never seen or even knew anything about. Thanks, I really enjoyed this read and viewing.

Guys, thanks for this very entertaining brass era post. Brought back excellent memories of my early collecting. I was amazed at how many of these models that I had, and still have. Need to go through a few boxes.

I noticed too David and also need to begin the paring down process of my collection by filling the empty little boxes inside great big boxes with small Miracles in Miniature. Sad

@karl

Thanks for the comparison Karl. Just noticed how the rear hood strap wraps the exhaust and thought that was an error by both companies - but it is not.

The Fiat Mephistopheles (known in Italian as Mefistofele) is a one-off racing car created by Ernest A.D. Eldridge in 1923 by combining a Fiat racing car chassis and Fiat aeroplane engine. The name is from the demon of the same name. The name alluded to the infernal noise emitted from the unmuffled engine, and it was "baptised" by the Frenchmen.[citation needed]

Eldridge broke the World Land Speed Record on 12 July 1924 with the Mephistopheles,[1] by driving at 234.98 km/h (146.0 mph) in Arpajon, France. The last car to set a land speed record on a public road.[2]

The Mephistopheles was created by combining the chassis of the 1908 Fiat SB4 with a 6-cylinder, 21.7 litre (21706 cc) Fiat A.12 aeroplane engine producing 320 PS (235 kW; 316 bhp).[3]

About 10 years ago on this forum I posted my 1905 and prior cars. I've since added several more, including one more EMC 1903 Cadillac and the uber-rare 1905 from Vlad Sorokolat.

@mg-harv, glad you snagged one, Harv. I had one on order when Vlad had to shut down his operation.

The 1905 Caddie looks modern with the front hood but it still appears to have the under the seat engine, and it is also top hat qualified. Might one of the models be a Top Marques made b Max Kernick?  A very nice collection Harv.

@stewil The Cadillac sits on a display case made with a view panel so that the chassis and engine detail can be seen without removing the model. I got mine before others so I could write reviews of it. Then Russia invaded.....

And good eye Steve! You spotted the Max's Models (Kernick) 1905 Rolls Royce.

Another picture of the Caddie Harv, but this is the one that won the Laurel wreath in 1908 which Cadillac still proudly wears.

@jkuvakas Has anybody heard from Vlad - on how he and his family are doing?

@mg-harv A very nice set Harv'. I wonder what the white two-seater is bottom LHS on your first picture below orange Fiat and White Cannstatt Daimler?  Is it a Laurin & Klement ?

@charles-rockett, we heard form him a few months ago. He is somewhere in Europe with his family. I'll try to get an update.
