Another display or two.
Â
The GP and F1 display is my attempt to show an evolutionary sequence in racing car design. Not all are winners but each is representative of it's time.
Â
Closeups
Â
This display includes two 1976 rivals, Nikki Lauda's Ferrari and James Hunt's McLaren. BTW - There is a great movie of it called 1976: Hunt vs Lauda.
Â
To the right of the F1 cars is a small rally car display
Â
And below the GP/F1 shelf is a mixed scale Trans-Am Racing display

I love the way you have set up these displays with descriptions of each vehicle displayed. Lots of effort was need to do this Steve but it sure looks nice.
Â
Thank you for your positive comments Jack, Michael, and David. 😊

I wonder how many here know the story behind old man Finzio's Garage.
The entrance to the Car Story Room.
Part of the Championship Trails Story is found front and center in the display case which contains a history of Indy cars. Before 1970 Indianapolis race cars were just just part of the championship story. Drivers like AJ Foyt, Mario Andretti, Roger Ward, and Parnelli Jones drove midgets, sprint cars, dirt champ cars, as well as the era's "Indy" cars to win the championship. (1/18th scale in the display) However, the "Top Shelf" contains 1/43rd scale models representing almost a 100 years of racing at the Brickyard.
Â
A closeup which includes the typed Championship Trail Story on the bottom shelf.
Â
Indy Car evolution, the 1st winner is at the bottom right, each car labeled at back of shelf
Â
evolving
Â
The most innovative era: mid-engines, wings, ground effects
Â
Increasing sophistication
And today - more safety and sophistication but not the excitement of the 1960's and '70's IMHO.
