Someone know if the new BRK 54M 1953 Airmstream Wanderer(Bare metal) in the luxury box is maintained by 2 screws and can be removed from the base?
All Brooklin models in the new box are fixed with one or two screws and can be removed.
Thank you for your response, Gianluigi. Sometimes it is hard to decide if it worth it to take with or without de luxury box to protect your model. For some models i think it worth it but for other i don't think so. Sellers in general i think seems to have only the luxury boxes unlike on the Brooklin site where we can decide between no luxury box or with. Personnaly, i like the box but i am not very enthusiast to buy a model in white metal fixed on a baseplate.
As far as I know the old grey box is not available on new models.
All new releases come in the new box or the luxury box (?15 more), but in both cases the model is attached to the base with screws. It takes some care to remove the model, sometimes the screws are quite tight, but this way the shipping is safe and you don't have the accessory bag with mirrors or other small parts which you have to attach yourself.
Does the baseplate has been a bit molded more down where the holes are?
If so can we see when the model is on a glass shelf at the eyes level the part which exceeds a little?
Thank you again.
I've just opened the Airstream box Michel and
I can confirm that the model is secured by two screws to the base. The model is removable. Both new boxes have the models secured to the base.
Which is the difference between the new collectors box and the luxury box, Mike?
I'm a bit confused.
Thank you very much.
The new cheaper box is similat to the Buick Collection boxes i.e. the box lid fits over the bottom part of the box. The model fits inside, screwed to the base, with an insert to prevent the model moving about. The more expensive box is bigger, and the opening is a hinged flap. The model is still screwed to the base and is within a clear Perspex display box. Hope that clarifies it Michel. For me the least expensive box fits the bill perfectly. If you want to display your models individually, go for the more expensive (?15.00 more) box.
Merci beaucoup for the explanations and your time, Mike.
That clarifies very well.
No problems Michel
