How a Subaru Impreza/ Cross Trek should look

Below is how my wife’s 2014 Impreza looked the afternoon of February 28 after being hit by a Dodge Carsvan at a bad intersection. That she was in her Subaru is probably why she is alive. It happened three blocks from our house. I heard the sirens not knowing that Jeannie was in one of the cars until that dreaded call came. She was transported to an ER where cat scans and x-rays determined that she had no broken bones or head injuries, but did suffer significant soft tissue bruises. She is home recovering from those bruises that are very painful.  The seat belt and airbags plus the structure of her Subaru saved her.  She was lucky.  All we can say is be careful out there. Our highways and intersections have become war zones. One beautiful thing to see is that our collie dog has not left Jeannie’s side except for her walks outside. Collies, like so many dogs, are very protective.

Life is fragile. It all happened so quickly.  Here is Princess Faye at her bedside.

I hope she gets better soon and glad there are no major injuries. A lot of engineering goes into cars today to make them safer and more survivable in case of an accident. Your Subaru is an excellent example of that engineering.

David,

I'm glad to hear that your wife is ok.

I'm a driver and somtimes do 100-200 miles in a day and can't believe some of what I see.

Idiots, stupid, or just plain clueless ?

Steve

A true blessing that your wife survived without any more serious injuries. Love those collies. We have had three over the many years and they are wonderful family members.

It is so good to hear that this terrible accident has a positive outcome.  Thank goodness for those side impact air bags.  I hope your wife has a fast and complete recovery.

Glad to hear she is on the mend David. And nice dog! One of the factors in our decision 5 years ago to get a Subaru was its safety record. A friend had one and got rear-ended when a driver did not slow at an exit ramp. Car was totaled but he and his wife walked away.
