Spark Mini JCW Coupe..............

I received the model about a week ago and I have to say that I am very impressed by the quality of the model.

I was not expecting the level of details to be so crisp to the I:I in my garage. It is a very small and diminutive model but all the execution is perfect down to the JCW and Mini badges (3d, colored and readable), red brake calipers with logos and even the clear xenon bulbs in the headlights.

For a so small scale, it is quite an achievement. The casting quality of all parts is crisp and laser accurate and all plated parts are chromed and not foiled. Even the side mirror pods have reflective material and the larger JCW exhaust pipes are well rendered.

I put apart the model to look at the cabin details: the seats are dressed in black with red piping and red and black panel trim. The gauges are readable and even the Mini badge on the steering wheel with the red top stick shift.

Bottom line, it is an outstanding model and the only one I have ever found of a JCW Mini Coupe.

I confess I had to look up JCW (John Cooper Works) to id this coupe. Looks like an interesting subject!

I've always wondered why on earth BMW made this particular style.

Apparently the roof is meant to represent a back-to-front baseball cap.....

John, I agree and I wonder what the late John Cooper of the Cooper Car Company Ltd would think of all this.

Richard, great to hear you managed to get one and thanks for the review ...

it means more coming from someone who has bought the model and owns the real thing.

Any chance for some comparison photos? That would be cool!

The rear part of the roof is a spoiler............

that works in combination with the rear deck spoiler that deploys at 50 mph. Believe me, this Mini 2 seater is very fast in the performance JCW trim and performs and handles like a race car.

M. Cooper would love it.
