Station wagons, especially Woodies, has there been an example of the best looking ones ever made? I think the woody wagon is now history and all we have is what we remember. Has the best one already been done? As a 1/43 scale model. Was it a Ford, Mercury, Pontiac, Packard or did I miss one?
A couple more woodies (pic)
Two of my few woodies, the DeSoto by Brooklin and the Dodge by IXO.

I don't even know where to start on the wagons....
Oldsmobile, Hudson, Buick and Chevy quickly come to mind. Nash also did a Suburban sedan.
Check out Route66modelcarstore for that Nash woody and many others.
David and Harvey thanks for those pics but I think what I want is

the missing link in the collection or the star of the show.
Has every station wagon and Town & Country been modeled?
And I'm completely ignoring the later models with fake vinyl appliques on steel bodies. Maybe it was in a movie with Bob and Bing being picked up at the train station by a vehicle from the ski lodge. (Or maybe I've been out in the sun too long.) What do you think of this Hudson?
The 1:1 Hudson is beautiful, I have seen it several times.
Unfortunately the 1:43 model is somewhat less. It looks off.

My answer for the "best looking woodie ever been made" in 1/43 or any other scale is open to an individuals interpretation as it is a subjective question. As far as what I like I think that a 1939 or 1940 Ford wagon is hard to beat. Maple wood has a more finished look than ash that other makers used. The lines of both these cars were pleasing when the car was new and to me the same is still true. Of course the '40 has been done by Minichamps but is under scale so i wish a more correct one would be done but I doubt that it will happen. The '39 was done by Motor City in their USA line. The wood body is nice but a little lacking in the front windshield area, grill and headlights and license plate placement. Of course the Hudson you show was never made back in the day and same for the Olds Country Club Coupe. I'm sure that everyone will have a different thought as far as which woodie is the "Best". As far as has every station wagon woodie been modeled?, the answer is no, not even close! For starters I would love to see a 1940 Willys and a 1940 Oldsmobile wagon. I hope that the 1942 Buick wagon will be modeled by Brooklin since Bulgari has one in his collection.
Curtis has some of the best woodies - his have real wood!
I think his 4WD Fords are some of his best chops.
