Here's a history of the London taxi which was always a special designed vehicle to comply with local regulations   Marketed for much of the years by Austin but bodies were by Carbodies of Coventry.  Left to right,  1934 Austin low loader,    circa 1953 Austin FX3,  (an enhanced and detailed Ertl item recently added to complete the history),   circa 1984  Austin FX4.

1934 1964 London Taxis #1
1934 1964 London Taxis #2

Circa 2018 LEVC Electric,   Circa 1998 TX1

1997 TX1 2018 LEVC taxi #1
1997 TXi 2018 LEVC taxi #2

Very interesting London taxis ! I understand there is quite a test to pass to get to be an official London taxi driver. London is a huge and intricate city.

I have 5 versions of the Dinky FX3. The yellow with brown base version I had as a child (this one is a replacement). There are two shades of the blue one, I think the one I need is a lighter blue.

Dinky 40H and 254 FX3 taxis

And I wonder how that works out with Uber?    London resident Graeme, any answer?
