The 1930 Pierce Arrow Model B Roadster by Esval (pic)

This one arrived recently from Legacy through a reservation that I had forgotten. Oops! First, here's Esval's description on the back of their "No. 257 of 500" card:

And here's the Pierce Arrow.

And that unique Pierce Arrow headlight.

With what is perhaps the most realistic convertible roof I have in our scale.

I also like the beige color. Enjoy!

Just beautiful. This one and the red version were must haves for me.

I couldn't wait for them to arrive. I wasn't disappointed with the models. The only disappointment was the fact that I needed to box them up for my move. They will have their photo shoot in a few months.

They are enough dfferent to make having both worthwhile.

See my reviews for pictures.

I also have that version of the Esval Pierce in beige and it states on the certificate no. 001/500, now I wonder if that makes any difference regarding value in the future, not that I have any intention of selling it but it's a great model, but didn't someone comment a few weeks ago that it was indeed slightly underscaled ?

Yes, underscaled...

..a shame, b/c otherwise looks great. It's not only too small generally, but the lower half of the car is off even more. If you look at the ad and then the image, you can see.

My review in the last issue of DiecastX noted that it's about 1/45 scale. Does that bother me in a car this big? Not at all.

PIC - Good to have your perspectives, Gentlemen. Looking at Wayne's photos, I am struck not only by difference in the top up vs.?open and the different wheels but also, aren't the grille textures un-alike and the hood mascot as well?

Well it would bother me if the advertised scale was 1:43rd.

Yes they are, Randall, and check out the metal vs. canvas spare covers, too. Apparently Esval went to some length to make the two models different. I haven't done the research to see if all the upgrades on the top-down model were factory (vs. aftermarket) but Packard did offer different mascots.
