My not-so-favorite Frenchman has new listings up, two of which are on my hit list, but each with a slight problem.  It appears that somewhere along the model's journey an owner took it upon himself to alter the grill from Rolls Royce to Bentley, and not necessarily in a professional manner.  Both models are in the top five on my wish list, but I'm not sure they are worth the investment.  I could buy them and then buy two 'parts cars' and redo the radiator grills for both, which may be an easy task, or not, depending on the adhesive used by the previous owner.  I'll post the GLM RR Vincent Van photos and the RR Matrix photos with the altered models.

At least the new grill on the shooting break matched the hood better!  But it's a hard choice - a gamble!

Especially if you have been looking a long time for these and they are expensive.   I might wait for a better one, but it'd your choice!

Let us know what happens!  Bonne chance!

@karl   If I do bid, it will be with the idea to buy two sacrificial RRs for their grills, so I can do a restoration on both.  The auctions end tomorrow night, so we shall see how it goes.  My experience of this seller's level of integrity is somewhere between a two and non-existent, so I am treading very carefully.

Well.........    it's your money AND you can't take it with you - HOWEVER - personal experience has taught ME that it's cheaper to DO IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME.    In other words, "Pass on these.  Spend a little more and get exactly what you want.    Don't waste your time & money chasing pasts and doing repairs."

- Again, just my two cents.    You can always tell me to go to hell  - I've heard it before.   🙄 😏 🙄 😀

@chris  I threw in a couple of ridiculously low bids to see what happens.  However, I will not be chasing the bid when the countdown begins.

@chris I'm with you on that advice. Over the years, there have been too many times I settled to get something I really wanted, but was imperfect. The fix was rarely as good as I wanted and it took way more time than I expected. Almost every time I did that, a perfect example showed up later at a good price. Karma.

@randyrusk   You both give good counsel, and if I get them for pennies it won't put a dent in my budget so I can still pursue better quality models of the two.
