I present to you my latest "favorite" acquisition, an old and unusual toy which does not lack charm...Â
Here is the "Trans-Continental Express" panoramic bus produced by "Ok Toys":
Made in Hong Kong at the early 60s, its ribbed stainless steal panels and portholes are both "Forward Look" and "Space Age", giving it an ultra modern and avant-garde look for the time.
This one is in very good condition, except for the box i had to repair.
It was also produced in Spain under the "Telsada" brand, visible on this catalog page...
...and in other colors:
It appears in a widebody version in the "Stingray" TV series by Gerry Anderson, also creator of the "Thunderbirs" series; here in his journey to Scotland...
The "machine" measures 42 centimeters in lenght (16,54 inches) and is approximately 1/40 scale. A Dinky Toys model ("Hong Kong" of course 😉 ) placed next to it gives a more precise idea of the scale:
The former (young?) owner personalized his toy to remind us that it was riding for His Gracious Magesty... 😊Â
In a decor that - modestly - recalls that of the "Thunderbirds"...
 Waiting for travelers...
To conclude...
Very space-agey!!! I would even call it a Trans Constellation Express! What a great find!! Tres Bien Fait!
A great model to acquire. I like your photos. Thanks for sharing.

Excellent!
Who can identify the building behind the bus in the last photo?
The LAX "Theme Building"
A truly great model model and a fascinating find!

Thank you Domi, a really interesting and informative post.
What a great-looking bus and sensational item to have in one's collection ! Fine images of a wonderfully futuristic transportation vehicle..
@lloyd-mecca, LOL! I had to look up the name but I recognized it right away.

Thank you all for your enthusiastic feedback! 😊Â
Â
I must get one of these for my collection. Too cool!
In addition to my article, i return to the Spanish version...
As you see, the spanish catalog indicates the choice between 2 variants : N° 252 "pintado" (painted) or N°253 metalizado (metallic)- i suppose the same color as mine -
On Facebook, i found other photos of this version painted in green...and in like new condition!
On the rear of the vehicle, a license plate indicates the model reference...252! If anyone has already seen a model with the license plate reference 253 , the photo will be welcome!! 😊 😉Â
@domi7777 Any recommendations for a source for these? I’m not all that interested in the box, but would love to find a bus in clean, crisp condition.
Question: is this a model of a real bus or someone's special creation? Either way, very unique.
