This is my favorite Norev model, the 2004 Cadillac XLR (No. 910002) in a close approximation to Xenon Blue. The model was also available in silver. The car was produced alongside Corvettes in Bowling Green, KY, but were provided with Northstar V8s instead of the LS2 Corvette engine. Production was from model years 2004 to 2009, with fewer than 16,000 produced.  As a nod to Brooklin's main investor, I should mention that Bulgari designed the instrument cluster.

I believe this model dates from about 2007. The Norev has a rather complex (but ingenious) top mechanism, and it is a credit to their designers how realistic it looks when the top is down with respect to trunk shut lines. I wish more diecasts with superb operating features would appear on the market, but there does not seem to be many these days.

Love the rear plate!

I'm updating all my Norev photos, so I hope to post more over the next week.

This must be only the second 43rd scale car with an operating convertible hardtop, the other being the Franklin Mint '59 Ford.

There are at least two others. Minichamps made a Mercedes SL with this feature (early 2000s maybe?). Plus Norev made the Peugeot 402 Eclipse. I'll post mine tomorrow!

Great looking Cadillacs!  On the tops, does a do-it-yourself version count?

If so, the 1954 Cadillac Eldorado and 1959 Pontiac by GFCC will count.
