Chevy Deluxe:

The original series ran from 1941 to 1948, after which a new body style was introduced for 1949, running through 1952. During the post-war years and continuing through the early 1950s, the Deluxe range was Chevrolet's sales leader, offering a balance of style and luxury appointments unavailable in the base Special series; and a wider range of body styles, including a convertible, Sport Coupe hardtop (starting in 1950), two- and four-door sedans and four-door station wagons.

I like these, Frank, perhaps because my dad gave me a '51 Chevy fastback, my first car.  It was several years old and a little rusty, but it sure came in handy!  Here's a crude but uncommon modification that's been in my collection for several years.  It's a 1950 Chevrolet Station Wagon, a woody, being a kit by Provence Moulage on a Solido base.

A couple of nice early '50s Chevs Frank and David. Thanks for posting. I have the '51 convertible also in thistle grey. I must look into the Solido 4 dr sedan version. I only wish someone would do a 4 dr fastback in 1/43 scale . Record made one however it is probably more like 1/50 scale. The very first car that I remember riding in as a child was my fathers 1950 or 1951 Chev 4 dr fastback in metallic green. I can still remember standing on the floor of the back seat, only being tall enough to just look over the front seat as my dad drove. No seat belts back then. Safety didn't seem to be much of a concern.

I'm hoping for the maroon version to be launched as it is a great model but I prefer the maroon over black.

And here is a 1949 Fleetline Special fastback four door conversion I did to represent a family car and story.

@d-m-holcombe  I also built one of these but corrected the angle of the tailgate.  Since this woody body was used on the Pontiac and Oldsmobile I bought extras and created the Pontiac and Oldsmobile versions.

@john-quilter                John, I really admire your work, as well as your subjects.  Thanks for your good posts.   Right now I'm building a simple kit, a Danhausen BMW;  so far, no surprises.  It's fun to work with a well made model, and this one was made for Danhausen by Tin Wizard.  Whenever. . ., I'll post some pictures.
