This is a really great model. I had planned on passing on it (was just going to wait for three-tone version) but I decided to get one and I am very happy I did. It is very well done. The black & white colors and simple, basic and outstanding.
Thank-you John for these unboxing videos you are doing, they add to the experience of getting the new model or give me something to look forward to when I haven't received mine yet. And even, once or twice, they have prompted to buy a model I didn't have yet. All good.
Like Skip mine arrived today as well. This is a spectacular model in every way. The wire wheels on the tritone version are just perfect. If you are on the fence about this model and haven't yet ordered it I would suggest you do so before they're gone. Using the Motor City name meant I was expecting a lot from this model and I was not disappointed.
I liked the two tone green one the best and am extremely pleased with it. I have encouraged Greg Gunn to expand the '56 Dodge range and launch a four door hardtop, which was the first year for this body style. Economies of scale could be achieved as much of the trim, bumpers, wheels, base plate, etc would transfer from the wagon.
@mark Ordering info is in John Kuvakas's video at the start of this string. With shipping, my tri-tone worked out to be about $170. Those versions without the wire wheels may be a bit less but you need to check with Greg to be sure.
I got my tri-tone version this week. Here's a pic of the wagon next to the MOC '56 2-door.
Wow; it looks GREAT in those 3 eye-catching colors. I have the MOC '56 2drht. and the black/white wagon, so when my tri-tone arrives the 3 will look great on display. I would love it if Greg Gunn did a 4drht. and a convertible; I would definitely buy both.
