Well I did it. Proobably not a big deal for some of you seasoned Brooklin Model buyers, but I have purchased my first one. Just got it today. First impression is very nice. I am totally amazed at how heavy it is. I have only one white metal model, the '48 Cadillac Saoutchik in 1:24, and it is heavy. I figured this would be too, it is just heavier than I expected. I bought the 1933 Pierce Arrow Coupe in Maroon. I have probably started something, because I have begun searches on other models available. I think I have put at least 20 on my must have list. Yikes!

Welcome, John, to the world of 1:43 models. My small holdings (well maybe it's kind of middling) numbers in the several hundred range, but the search goes on. And I agree with you about the weight, having mentioned just that in my comparison of Neo's new Packard with some heavier comps by Brooklin and Minimarque. But I can't imagine having shelves sturdy enough to support white metal models in 1:24!
And now you need just a few 1:43 figures to bring your new model to life!

Welcome aboard John. That Pierce Arrow is my favorite.
My wife and I measured and photographed the car in Pacific Palisades, CA for Brooklin some years ago so I know how accurate that model is.

One of my favorite firms is Arttista (just google the term). "O scale" is more common than "1:43."

Glad you're testing the waters John. I am a multi scale collector myself but I must say that 1/43 is far and away my favorite. I think you will find that the variety of offerings is vast compared to other scales and your choice of the Pierce Arrow tells me you'll be extremely pleased with the number of models available from the thirties. Keep us posted on your 1/43 collecting as we love to have company.

Thanks guys. I have been dabbling in the 1:43 scale arena for about a year now.
Most of the models I have added have been resin, with a few diecast from MiniChamps, Oxford, Trax and a few others. The '33 Pierce Arrow is my first Brooklin, and now that I have seen one up close, it won't be my last. Not sure why I resisted, but that's over. My next two will be a '54 Desoto and the '54 Mercury Wagon, and I want the '60 Impala and...
