I was across town yesterday to my old stomping grounds. I noticed an old True Value hardware store with a big closing for good sign in the window. This used to be "Connel's Hardware when I was about 6 or 7 back in mid 60s. I remember it becoming a True Value Hardware sometime in the mid 70s, but old man Connel still owned and ran it. This was an old fashion hardware store that would have anything and everything you might be looking for. Old hardwood floors that creaked when you walked across them and some items on the shelves so long, dust covered them good.
I went back and Julie "Mr. Connel's daughter" told me he passed away in 2019. I was sorry to hear that, as he was always good to us little outlaws...LOL. I hadn't seen Julie in almost 30 years and it sure surprised me that she remembered me. Everything is marked down so much it's almost free. I grabbed up on some tool accessories, these MBs for less than 10 dollars. I never knew they sold diecast cars. She also said she thought there was more MBs to put out, so I will go back today and see what's up...

That is a sad story about how things change with time. Covid has caused many closings here were I live, many because the ones are much older and have decided it is a good time to close as sales are low. I've been looking for that Ford GT40 for a while.
