In the last few months I have seen my photos copied and used on other sites. Main culprit seems to be from the Planet Diecast site. A former poster used my images of a Tri-ang Top Gear Corvette for an article they published on the Dinky Toys Collectors' Association http://dtcawebsite.com/forum-topic/mini-dinky After I called them out on Planet Diecast they did eventually gave me credit for the photos. Then https://lamleygroup.com/2021/11/07/keep-it-simple-stupid-marx-toys-porsche-904/ used one of my images. I notified them and it was removed but then so were my comments. Article writer claims "The image was saved directly from a Google Image search, not from any site or forum." Funny every time I searched for this image it went to where I put it!
There you go and don't be surprised when you do a search to find that your images turn up without credit on other sites.

Hi Chris,
My images from this site regularly appear on Google images. I have not copyrighted them and don't mind as long as they don't appear on eBay or the auction sites as an item for sale. Several of our members put their names on all images to reduce the copying problem. I did in one instance a few years ago warn an eBay seller that his item was misrepresented and he quickly removed my (Jaguar) picture.
Chris, my poor photography notwithstanding, my pictures show up every now and then. Since I often put my little folks in with my pictures, that helps me identify them. Also I sometimes print information on the picture; same results. I have given permission to only one site that I can remember, and that site has used a few, making my stuff look pretty good! Since I often pick up and use historical photos myself, I just accept this "theft" as part of the modern world of the computer age. I think I'll try sticking my name or at least initials into my photos, just for the heck of it, to see if they're removed.
Me too... Overall, my photography skills are so-so but every now & then one of my pics shows up on a diecast site (I mainly collect 1/18). Without a copyright, my hands are tied. I can afford to have a "carefree" attitude because, really, no one is making money off my pics. Should I ever see any of them on, say, a Superbowl ad, well..... that's a different story! 😏
Unfortunately, when one post images on the internet copyright violation and stealing of intellectual property is highly likely to happen. But do we really have to accept this if we are passing information and photographs over forums to benefit other collectors?
At least I expect that whoever is using my images and information that they reference where they found them.
I have found some of my images used on other collectors forums and the poster claims that not only is it their image but they own the model!

Recently found one of my images on https://www.hobbydb.com/marketplaces/hobbydb/catalog_items/screamer-8ac093c3-1398-4e8a-a366-d2848b0883da second image with remains of a sticker in right hand corner.
I did ask them to either credit it correctly or remove it. They haven't done either!
Image claimed by Darby C!
My model, my photo and nothing to do with Darby C.
