The Dublo Dinky Toys were announced by Meccano Ltd. in late 1957, and appeared in the stores in 1958. The series were in 1/76 scale intended to work with 00-gauge Hornby Dublo railways.

Due to their small size and the time period that they were produced,  Dublo Dinky Toys, like Tootsie at the time, tended to have simple diecast bodies and basic wheel. No plastic inserts were present on any until 1959.
My favourite is the  062 Singer Roadster as I owned the real car in the late 1950s.  I also really liked the 071 VW Van.

I have most of the Dublo series to go along with an extensive Moko Lesney Matchbox collection.  All nostalgia based for me.

I keep catalogues (booklets etc.) for diecast toys released by the companies.

Here is a page from Dinky Toys showing some of the Dublo Dinky range. Also, an advertisement from Railway Modeller Magazine.

And the 067 Austin Taxi shown in the catalogue.

David - this was an interesting range and I have always wanted to collect the whole series. Unfortunately, prices have always been high so I never been able to do so.

My personal favourite is the Land-Rover and Horse Box complete with miniature horse.

Some cite that the competition from Matchbox prevented further issues but we must remember Meccano were in financial difficulty in the period these models was released in and this may have been the main factor. In February 1964 the Meccano Empire was taken over by the Tri-ang company who in the 1930's were the biggest manufacturer of toys in the world. But in 1971 they too collapsed and went bankrupt.
