HotWheels 1975 Corvette Stingray
The third generation Corvette Stingray, patterned after the Mako Shark II concept car, was introduced for the 1968 model year and was in production until 1982. C3 (after Corvette 3rd generation) coupes featured the first use of T-top removable roof panels. For 1974, a new rear bumper system replaced the squared tail and chrome rear bumper blades introduced in 1968 with a trim, tapering urethane cover carrying an integral license plate holder and recesses for the trademark round taillights.
Beginning in 1976, HotWheels ended up making over 50 variations of this casting over the years.
This 1975 Corvette Stingray was issued in 1999 in the Ocean Blasters 5 pack. It was not released in bubblepack.
Its white with a gold, blue and white tempo for ‘Moran’s Surf Shop Xpress’ on both sides. Windows are blue tinted and the base is unpained. Made in Thailand.
