Today, I will show something different, a fire truck from Code 3 Collectibles.  Code 3 has made a wide range of 1/64 scale fire trucks and emergency vehicles for many years, and I have a few of them.  They are metal with plastic detail parts.  Each usually has the markings of a specific vehicle from a specific fire department or airport.  The following photos show a Mack C Pumper with Chicago Fire Department markings, which Code 3 made in 2002.  This type of vehicle was produced by Mack from 1956 to 1967.

The first two pictures show the Mack C Pumper with the Chicago skyline in the background. The background will look a little faded, since the photo was taken in 1961 by me, and many years later was digitized. The building on the right is the Prudential Building.  With 44 floors, it was the tallest building in Chicago at that time.  For those of you familiar with Chicago the picture was taken from just west of Buckingham Fountain looking north.  I used a simple Kodak Starflash camera with Ektachrome film.  Enjoy the pictures and admire the details.

This fire truck looks excellent and Code 3 did a great job with this one. The Prudential Building view is a familiar one to any of us from the Chicago area and it's a great backdrop for this image.

Beautifully detailed Mack fire truck Ed. Nice suitable background on your first two images.

Terrific looking firetruck Ed. I was tempted many times by these little gems.... I just didn't want another "sub-collection,"  but totally understand all who "give in!"

...I'm no expert on 1/64 Code 3 Collectables but I do know that most trucks sell for between $35 -$80, with some of the more elaborate hook & ladder rigs going for $250 and up.

@jkuvakas

I have three Code 3 fire truck models, two pumpers and one ladder truck, which I bought in 2002 to 2005. I do not have the receipts from these purchases, but I think the price range at that time was $50 to $70, maybe a bit more for the ladder truck. The Mack C Pumper shown above has a price today of $149.99.  The Ladder Truck, which I will show in my next post, has a price today of $299.99.

The first two pictures above showed the Chicago skyline in 1961.  About 50 years later I went back to that spot to take another picture to show how the skyline changed.  The Prudential Building can be seen a bit left of center in the second picture.
