At the recent Chicago Shenanigans show a fellow collector who knows my interest in 1/64 scale models gave me this Matchbox Collectors 2023 Nissan Z.  For those of you not familiar with the Datsun/Nissan series of Z cars, 2023 is the first model year of the seventh generation Z. The first generation began with the Datsun 240Z announced in 1969 and arriving in the US in 1970.

So far, I have left the model in its clear plastic blister package. The model looks accurate and has operating doors.  See below photos.  I have a question for those of you, who are Matchbox experts. At the top right of the package one finds "5/20".  Also, on the lower left and lower right of the included box there is '05'.  What do those numbers represent?

I would love to see ACTUAL numbers.....  Kids buying Matchbox  vs. Adult collectors buying Matchbox.   No doubt, the kids would win hands down....but sometimes I really wonder. 🤔 🙄 🤔 🤨

@ed-davis Hi Ed There are 20 models in this particular collection with the Nissan number 5. The first ten are known and include a '64 Buick Riviera and a '70 Olds 442. The actual reference number for this casting is MB1269. For further information please see:
