While recently checking over early Matchbox with wire wheels, I discovered this boxed treasure.
Phil Hill was the first American World Champion in Formula 1 back n 1961.
This Lesney Matchbox model was first introduced in 1962. It can also be found with 52 instead of 73 on the side.

Nice, yours is in better condition than mine. The number 73 is worn on the sides but other than that not to bad for a "toy' that was played with in the 60's. It's a lousy photo because it was one of the first few I took.
