My father was in the Royal Canadian Navy and served in WWII from 1939 to '45 on the Murmansk Convoy North Atlantic nightmare, then two years in the Korean War on a ship called The Crusader. They were known as part of The Trainbusters in Korea. He served from 1938 thru '63.
@grockwood Nice pic, I had to look twice....you got me with this one! I too love all these 1/18 WW II tanks & "stuff!"
Chris, nice photos of your motor pool.  I think I have one of everything 21st put out in 1/18. Tanks I have more of though. 7 BBI Shermans,7 21st Shermans and 3 Bravo Shermans. I have so many Shermans because I have bought kits to convert them to different models.  Unfortunately I have never gotten around to building them.
@grockwood Wow, awesome collection! I stayed away from those conversion kits because I'm not an "expert" on WW II tanks; I don't know enough to know what I'm doing right or wrong. But I do have much more 1/18 WW "stuff" and have modified all 21st Century vehicles to have working steering (I posted the how-to projects on these Forums).
@perrone1 You have a terrific collection of 1/35 tanks & models Tony, very nice! It's cool that you had an opportunity to drive a M-113. Long before 9-11, I had a buddy who was a Combat Arms specialist/trainer in the AF. He used to get me, as a civilian, onto the weapons/grenade range. I have a few pics of me holding & using all kinds of serious fire power. Throwing a grenade was cool, but driving or being in a tank would've been even better...assuming no one was shooting at me. LoL 😬 😬 😬

Cool story Chris and cool pics of a fantastic collection of Armor!!Â
@chris Facts ?? whose facts ? what facts ??
As times passes by, the true facts are coming out, facts that will leave people stunned.
Here in the Netherlands facts are released that our Royal Prince Bernard was not as nice as one thought during WWII.
In fact, several years ago news came out that our complete Royal family was not completely honest during these years.
And what about the atrocities the Allies have done during the last days of WWII ?
Ofcourse those facts are not generally known, but if you dig deep enough you will find them.
And ofcourse every one will admit that some painful truths will be denied, no matter what.........
Until it is time...........and time will reveal the real truth.
Â
It is time to remember what we have done and even remember the other side.
It is time to stop blaming others and to start looking at yourself.
It is time to stop listening to those war-mongers who spend fortunes on bombing and destroying countries.

@joop This is a subject that could be discussed for a lengthly period of time and one that of course would have many perspectives and points of view. IMHO this would be best done in another forum. In conclusion I will say that very few soldiers on either side of any war prefer to be in such a challenging environment as it goes against our basic human nature to harm others....we all know that. Personally I focus my attention on the soldiers that sacrificed so that we could be free. As a human being I do feel sorrow for all the young men who gave up their lives.
@jack-dodds right, Jack, we will end this discussion on this forum.
