It’s been nearly a decade since Art Garfunkel lost his ability to sing, midway through a 2010 Simon & Garfunkel reunion tour concert in New Orleans.
He was subsequently diagnosed with partial paralysis of one of his vocal cords and gave up smoking tobacco and marijuana later the same year.
It took the 78-year-old vocal star until 2014 to regain his ability to sing and resume touring, which he does not take for granted. As Garfunkel put it a 2018 Union-Tribune interview: “When I do shows now, I thank God in the middle of the first song.”"

good stuff, thanks John. Too many great S & G songs to pick a favourite, oh OK, America, no The Boxer, Sounds of Silence?
I LOVED their stuff and found it to be transcendent and magical to my small town,sheltered upbringing........I envied them so much their wisdom and knowledge of people......The Boxer was/is Magnificent

"Old Friends", had a gathering of friends when I turned 70 as we sat on a park bench and sang a couple of S&G songs. And it was terribly strange to be 70 and singing a song from 1968, never thought we would make it that far.
