A personal clarification

As a consequence of my participation in some of the rather curious forum posts in which I have recently become involved – against my better judgment, it has to be said - I believe certain persons within the forum community have been asking some probing questions about my background, possibly with a view to assessing the advisability of my continued membership and its implications for the stability and mental wellbeing of the community as a whole. Well, I do understand the concerns but am reluctant to shoulder all the responsibility in this matter, and to eliminate any lingering doubts or queries about my personal history and suitability I can do no better than offer you a brief taster of my CV (or “résumé” as some of you call it) which I used some years ago when applying for the post of CEO with a number of major international companies and organisations. At the time I thought it was a well-written and honest self-assessment which would stand me in good stead, although people later suggested it may have been one reason why despite being a university graduate I remained largely unemployed for 28 years before I eventually secured a congenial position as a junior assistant tunnel scraper with the Greater London Sewer and Storm Drain Maintenance Authority. The work, which was ideally suited to my temperament and background, mainly consisted of removing stubborn congealed grease and fat residues from the grouting of the tunnel walls using toothpicks, tweezers and coarse sandpaper. The skills I acquired on the job proved invaluable in my later model-making career. I eventually rose to the rank of Fatberg Extraction and Disposal Expert (FEDEx) but decided to pursue my literary ambitions so I left to become a widely-syndicated gossip columnist. With my long experience of digging the dirt and smear tactics, it proved the ideal line of work which I have pursued ever since. Hopefully this will assuage any concerns about my bona fides (that's a Latin term which translates roughly as "Give Fido a bone" and although I'm not quite sure it is entirely relevant here, it does lend a certain air of literary gravitas. p.s. Acknowledgement - the CV is by the late John Glashan, watercolour artist and cartoonist.
