Dick says, "An update on Ilene.
An update on Ilene and I will start from the beginning . Two weeks ago she went to bed on Sunday as usual and woke up Monday morning with her left foot all black, swelled and very painful, she couldn't walk on it for two days.
Each day it kept getting worse and we went to our walk-in clinic to get her some help. The doctor had ex-rays taken and nothing showed up. Ilene did not do anything to it to cause this but it kept getting worse by the day and it looked so bad and the pain was so bad. We thought about a bug or spider bite but all of them said no that it wasn't this.
So after more test were done, an ultra sound and others still nothing showed up. We then were able to get her in to see our regular doctor at the same clinic, and he did a very complete work up, he made a special appointment for her as he is always booked up.
She by now was so exhausted and her heart was out of rhythm and her blood pressure was way low so he called for the paramedics to come and take her right to the hospital ER and she has been there for four days.
They were able to get most things under control except her foot that by now was all red and very swollen and even more painful. She was also coughing up blood. They were able to find the cause of that and treat it.
This morning at 7:30 AM they did surgery on her foot to drain it and clean it to find out what has caused this since no tests showed any results.
I just got a call from the hospital telling me that she was out of surgery and doing well and the doctor will call me later to tell me what he found.
She will be in the hospital for a few more days to make sure everything is under control.
So thankful for some wonder medical staff and doctors and thankful to God for providing them.

@d-m-holcombe, I will definitely hold my bride's hand every chance I get! But, it is DIck Johnson's wife, Illene, that has been hospitalized. I should have been more clear.

My prayers are with Dick and Ilene. I truly miss Dick's participation on this new website. I hope he will keep us posted on Ilene's condition and thanks John for keeping us up to date.

All things considered, that sounds like encouraging and good news! I'm hopeful for Dick's wife to have a full recovery. She's so fortunate to have such a caring kind man in Dick to look out for her.

I wish Ilene a speedy recovery Dick. Our doctors and surgeons work wonders every day.
I hope that you Dick are keeping well through all this. We do miss your great posts on the Diecast Zone.

Steve Jacobs here. And please....no L.A. here. I'd rather lose a toe or finger or a favored model before I'd EVER live in L.A. County.
I'm still in Orange County in Garden Grove / Anaheim area. And no, I do not have a Dland pass or wear mouse ears.

I'm sending positive thoughts and prayers towards Dick and his wife, Ilene. Dick is a wonderful man and hopefully the medical staff will now continue to have success in treating Ilene's health issue. All the best to you and your family, Dick !
