LOL! No, there aren't. But that step helps to keep the spammers and scammers out.
Sorry John, but your answer doesn't make sense (to me). If a person wants to log in, whether they are a spammer/scammer, doesn't prevent them from entering. All they have to do is check the box, "I'm not a robot" and they're in, just like you or me are.
"If a person wants to log in...they can check the box". True; but you're missing the rest of the story already told here.
Ever have a call at home where you answer and it takes a few seconds for the human voice to come on? That's because their computer ROBOT (Robo Call) is finished searching for a live phone number and then transfers it to the scammer's phone line.
Same here. The robot searches for an unprotected website and then feeds its info to the scammer/spammer. THEN he clicks the box and is in. But the system here at least cuts down on the improprieties.
Tony, John K. and others that have responded here to my question. I'm satisfied with all of the explanations and appreciate the supportive way you all explained it. THANK YOU! Much appreciation to you for what you do to keep the Diecast Zone the first place I enjoy coming to with my coffee in the morning.
