Pretty entertaining commentary, I enjoyed it. My massive N-scale RR is VERY MUCH in the armchairΒ phase. π πΒ

for the age of the narrator,he spoke in a cadence of someone with a presence beyond his years...............also,in keeping with the bylaws of diecast forums,I believe you owe this thread a few Railroad pics Chris

there Ya have it mate.......let`s see some choo choos
When we moved to this house 25 years ago there was no room for my N scale train layout. About fifteen years ago I donated some of the trains, track, roadbed, buildings, etc. to a museum. I have 238 Locomotives, several hundred freight cars and passenger cars still packed away. None of my Locomotives have computer chips in them which seems to be the way they are done today.

great Googly Moogly
Thanks Gents. I would LOVE to comply, but "armchair phase" Β means that the RR buff has his collection neatly packed away and has ONLY THOUGHT ABOUT making a layout while sitting in his ARMCHAIR.Β Β
That truly applies to me. My massive N-scale collection duplicates late summer in 1956 Pennsylvania with three lines: Pennsy, B&O, and Lehigh Valley.
1956 was about the last year of "transition,"Β that is, steam & diesel ran together.Β I have over 100 engines (steam & diesel ) and many more freight cars, passenger cars, buildings, accessories, automobiles, etc., etc.....but ALL packed away.
One day, I hope to set up something;Β I have 643,728 ideas & 956,032 reference pics! π π πΒ
The only hintΒ of my N-scale layout I've ever posted here is just some of my hand assembled/painted N-scale automobiles.
Finally, here's just a few reference pics that inspire me. Note that late '30's GMC AJAX moving van abandoned in this 1950's photo....if you look closely (see the PENNY? )Β you'll see that I reproduced it in N-scale. Like all my models.... everything MUST BE historically accurate!! π πΒ

@john-barry Thanks.
Yes, I've seen N-scale stuffΒ used on larger scale model RRs, for example....a kiddie-ride at an amusement park. N-scale can make good props. I've used them in that way too.
See the "model cars"Β on the shelf?Β π πΒ
it seems entirely appropriate that our toys should have their own toys..........nice arrangement as shelved model cars πΒ
