We live about 12 miles from Luke Air Force Base and these jets fly over our house so fast that by the time we hear the sound they are long gone. To find them in the sky you need to look a mile a head of where the sound is coming from.
These planes are beautiful. They mostly fly in pairs, but occasionally a foursome will treat us to an air show. It's especially exciting when these jet jockeys race each other. That's when the after burners kick in.
Are they loud? You bet. It's the sound of freedom.
@kocour - Few years ago I went to Vandenberg AFB to watch a Space X rocket launch.
This reminds me....I'm pretty sure my first wife broke the sound barrier when she ran screaming out of the house and down the street. Something about communication skills....I dunno.
Jack, Jack, Jack . . . have you not yet learned the technique of head nodding?
I certainly have....Lol.
