The car in the show was called a Porter but was a made-up car built with Ford parts and some creativity along with a Chevrolet motor. There was a manufactured car by the same name but it had no connection.

Thank you Mr. Jackman.  I never actually watched the show, as a talking car was a little above my fantasy acceptance level.  According some sources the actual Porter car used was customized by George Barris, of "Batmobile" fame.

I remember watching it as a kid.  One of the dumbest show premises ever.

I used to watch this tv show, primarily because it was about a car. It was pretty campy and only lasted one season but it was entertaining to this 11 year old.  I still remember the words to the title song. “Everybody knows in the second life…”
