My experience this morning at McDonalds sums it up...
Before going to church this morning, I went through the McDonald's drive-thru to get my large coffee. The coffee with tax is $1.71, so I gave the kid at the pay window 7 quarters and a penny. OMG! The kid just stared at the quarters and penny in his hand. It was a "deer in the headlights" look like none I've ever witnessed before.
Then he looked at me with a total confused look on his face, so I said, "I get a nickel back". With another dazed glance at the change in his hand, he reached for a nickel. Enduring this experience gave me an added reason to get to church, as I felt a need to pray for our younger generation. The future of our world is in trouble.

@georgeschire Sorry; I was just joking around; "humor" saves my sanity at times. But on a more serious side; I agree with your tattoo comments...except for the Popeye "lick 'em and stick 'em variety.
I've also been shortchanged at the register a few times and haven't noticed until I got home, however I've also been given more change than I should have. In those instances, I simply put the money in my pocket and leave the establishment. If the cashier can't read the register correctly it's their loose.
Sadly, if the person at the register gives out more change than he/she should, eventually the restaurant let's them go. Then they go on unemployment and/or welfare and we pay for that person to exist. It's a tragic vicious cycle.
