RELAXING and RAMBLING...

My coffee this morning smelled so good, it was hot, smooth and as always a perfect start to my day. Sipping it, my mind wandered.

In September 1960 I had just started the 3rd grade and my birthday was coming around in a few days. I was living in a foster home, and not happy about it.

With my parents being divorced, my mother not wanting me and my dad renting "a room" in the home of a co-worker, I had to reluctantly be with a foster family I didn't feel I belonged in.

Dad surprised me "on a school night no less" by taking me to this wrestling card. I hope he knew how much it meant to me!

Remembering this happy event put a warm feeling in my heart, my second cup of coffee was better than the first one.

Wow George.... We've got some memories there don't we...

I remember when I was 11 years old in 1964 and my mom and dad were divorcing. I was the oldest of five of the kids and Mom and Dad sat me down and asked me who I wanted to go live with.

I'm going to leave it at that. I don't want to expound about what happened and how we all lived and got along together but it was a very profound point in my life.

I do believe that it all made us a stronger human being and gave us some more respect for our love for the persons that we settled down with.

I do believe from your postings here that you and your wife have had a great marriage and for that I congratulate you wholeheartedly 101%

OMG!  You and I could probably have the stories to share.  I actually got a little teary eyed when I read your comment about your parents asking you who you wanted to go live with.  Divorce happens, but it's so sad and tragic in so many ways!  Two people who were committed to each other, decide they no longer are or want to be, and so many lives are turned upside down because of it.

I will only say, that you had a choice, I didn't.  But it didn't make it any easier.  That too, is a long story.  And THANK YOU for the nice compliment regarding my wife and I having a great marriage.  I've been blessed beyond words and yes, we're looking forward to our 50th anniversary in January 2024.

Thank you too, for sharing briefly your back story.  If you ever care to chat in person, reach out to me.  Many prayers for you always!

Steve, your compliment and blessings are very appreciated.  I sincerely extend the same to you.  It's the experiences we encounter and live through in life that make us who we are.  More importantly, I've always felt that it's how we choose to deal with those experiences.  For sure it can determine our future happiness and success.  THANK YOU!
