Oh MY; yes; he DOES know what a hard drive is!
In 1987 we moved from the St. Louis area to Jackson, Ms. At the time we had a GMC custom conversion van with my wife, mother in-law three large dogs and two cats plus myself on board. The trip of 500 miles took 11 1/2 hours with somebody having to stop every sixty to eighty miles for a rest stop. That was a hard drive.
@bob-jackman WOW, yes, that's a hard drive. I had a similar experience when I was transferred from Joshua, Texas to Maryville, TN in 1989. I drove the 898 miles with a small trailer, two dogs and two cats. I only stopped to feed the animals and supply water. I was there, at the new home, for one day when I learned the TX house had sold and had to return to pick up my wife and drive back all over again. I've still not recovered yet!! LOL!!
Transferred from New York to Eureka Ca via Boston in a Plymouth minivan with two toddlers in 89. Grant’s Pass anyone? 🥴

I'm thinking mine was a cake walk compared to the three of you.

I think the cartoon was the insperation for the movie Vacations. Drop a kid and add cranky old Aunt that dies on the way.
