Defrost Windsheid in Seconds!
There is a very big problem with the idea. The talking head at the end said that pure IPA (isopropyl alcohol) freezes at -130?F. That part is true. But we he fails to realize is that he is starting with rubbing alcohol that is only 70% IPA and that freezes at -20?F. When he dilutes the rubbing alcohol with 1/3 water, he is reducing the IPA content to almost 50%. This dilute solution has a freeaing point of -5?F. This makes the idea useless.
For what it is worth, windshield washer fluid is primarily methyl alcohol (methanol). Put some of that in a spray bottle if you really want to do this.
And now... you know the rest of the story.
My question is, What happens to your paint/plastic parts on your car?
