Second year of disappointment, unlikely to go next year. I miss the old Concours D'elegance at St.John's. The only thing better was the parking ... partially because the attendence was way lower than the old show in Plymouth. Pictures to be uploaded shortly ...

Wow, there are some really great cars there what a fantastic show this must be !

Is that burgundy with silver roof car a Cougar or a Mustang  concept car ?

I remember a plastic kit of it in 1/24 or 1/25th scale. I don't know if it was from IMC or MPC maybe.

And thanks for the pics of two of my most favorite cars. That 53 Buick convertible and the Lamborghini Espada.

The Studebaker is quite nice too.

Heck,  they're all nice ! Thanks again for all the pics !

@100ford2003 Ford Cougar II 1963, same concept from the 1/25 kit, good eye Steve. I recorded a video from the curator of the Detroit museum where the car resides, will try to upload to YouTube and post it.

Thank-you Chav !

That'd be amazing to watch !

I know that my brother will love it too cuz he's a real big Ford fan.

He still has a 70 Mach 1 that he bought in 1985 so he's only the second owner.

I didn't remember the kit being made by Lindbergh though.

It was a 1963 concept based on a Shelby Cobra.

@100ford2003 I was not familiar with the kit, the curator told me about it, he said it was first made by IMC and then reissued by Lindberg.

Same guy Dave was giving the presentation at Detroit, he was much more talkative and said many more things, hopefully my audio recording is OK because I was moving around, stay tuned ... the roadster was also there.

PS: my video is nice and the sound is OK, the iPhone has amazing stabilization

There were some really nice cars there. It is too bad the show has diminished considerably Our own local 3 summer cruise might and a car show each year has also diminished down to a single cruise night in mid-summer. The local garage owner and one of the driving forces (no pun intended) is now longer active/retired.

The Detroit show (Plymouth before) was so glamorous just 3 years ago, then in 2021 they moved the cars to the parking because rain soaked the golf course, and then in 2022 Hagerty took over and moved it to DIA in downtown Detroit and it was not as glamorous anymore, the attendance this year was ridiculous, and the car selection was desperate, they were showing new Fiats 500! ... one Auburn, one Duesenberg, 3 prewar Cadillacs, one Delahaye and one Rolls Royce. The muscle car selection was better, there was good group of Porsches and Japanese cars. No paper catalogs this year. The cars are no longer presented, only the winners. The staff is ignorant about automotive heritage and none of the staffers I asked had attended the old show just to have an idea what the car enthusiasts are missing. Too cheap ...

That's a shame.

@chav

That video IS awesome !

I only remember the model car kit. I didn't have any previous info on that car itself believe me I was only 10 or 11 years old at the time and of course with no Google or whatever I didn't know about it. I can't believe how much information I just learned from this thank you.

And that convertible looked absolutely stunning !!!
